During its 80th Council meeting, which was held on 21 and 22 May on Pico Island, in the Azores, the European Federation of Geologists (EFG) decided unanimously to suspend the membership of its Russian National Association, the Eurasian Union of Experts on Subsoil (EUES).
The EFG Council took this decision condemning firmly the Russian invasion of Ukraine and expressing its support to the Ukrainian geoscience community.
The decision will apply until the end of the war in Ukraine or until Council decides otherwise.
As a matter of consequence, EUES will no longer possess voting rights within EFG, will not be able to participate in our Federation’s activities and will not be permitted to represent EFG in any form.
