Become an Observer Member
Join EFG’s vibrant community of national associations to amplify the voice of geologists at the European level.
Our Observer members include National Professional Organisations, National Professional Registers or National Associations from Europe that are considering becoming Full members in the future. Their principal aims are to advance and promote the geology profession and the professional interests of geologists across various areas of expertise. The duration of Observer membership is initially limited to 5 years, but a reapplication is possible after this period.
Why become an Observer member of the European Federation of Geologists (EFG)?
- Observer Status: Secure an Observer seat on the EFG Council to access privileged information on European policy and sectoral developments, as a first step toward becoming a Full member. The Observer status allows your Association to follow all Council business without voting rights.
- Monitor EU Policies: Gain firsthand information on our advocacy efforts in Brussels to shape European policies.
- Enhanced Visibility: Boost the visibility of your National Association on both national and international scales through networking, collaboration, and reduced advertisement rates (50% discount).
- Member Benefits: Unlock special offers for events, training courses, mentoring, publications, and more for your members.
- Networking: Connect and collaborate with fellow EFG members and other stakeholders.
- Geoscience Promotion: Contribute to the broader promotion of geoscience to raise awareness of the importance of our profession for society.
