Launch event ‘This is Geoscience’
Led by the Geological Society, ‘This is Geoscience’ is a long-term initiative to reframe public understanding of geoscience and inspire the next generation of geoscientists. The campaign features new careers and educational resources, up-to-date salary and job market data, and insights into recruitment trends over the past two decades. Developed to be freely used and shared across the geoscience community ‘This is Geoscience’ aims to address misconceptions, broaden participation, and showcase the critical importance of geoscience in tackling global challenges.
The event will take place from 18:00 to 21:30 BST (London Time), and the programme is as follows:
18:00 to 18:30 – Welcome reception
18:30 to 18:40 – President’s opening remarks
18:40 to 19:40 – This is Geoscience: official launch
19:40 to 20:10 – Open discussion with Q&A
20:10 to 21:15 – Drinks reception
