IRTC: Raw Materials Risk Manager Online Course – From Raw Material Policies to Practice

The course fee covers all preparatory and instructional materials necessary for participation. An additional fee of 250 EUR applies for the optional examination, which upon successful completion includes the issuance of a certificate of completion. All fees are exclusive of VAT.
Are you a researcher, professional or government official and want to understand critical raw material risks?
After completing the course, you will be capable of identifying material supply risks and understanding the challenges and mitigation options related to critical raw materials.
The course format:
Preparatory work: half day
Online course: 01.09.2025-04.09.2025; 9:30-12:00 (CET) each morning
Voluntary examination online: 09.09.2025 13:00 (CET)
The course delves into these topics with a variety of lectures, exercises, and group tasks. Your trainers will be Michaela Schicho (Fraunhofer), Dieuwertje Schrijvers (WeLOOP) and Alessandra Hool (ESM Foundation). Upon successfully passing the final examination, you will be a Raw Materials Risk Manager, certified in accordance with ISO/IEC 17024.
Specifically, you will learn to:
– define risks associated to criticality
– apply risk concepts to raw material security of supply
– distinguish the common criticality assessment methodologies
– know risk types for specific stakeholder groups
– comprehend criticality indicators and their data bases
– reproduce the EU criticality assessment
– distinguish different levels of analysis
– identify common risk types for specific stakeholder groups
– assign mitigation options according to specific goals and risk types
– understand latest development in the regulatory framework on critical raw materials
– determine the impacts of regulatory developments on different stakeholder groups
