The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) has just released a position paper on geoscience as a tool for civil protection against earthquakes, concerning the recent seismic events in Eastern Turkey and Northern Syria on 6 February 2023.
EFG, the professional body that represents 28 national geological association members, draws the attention of policy-makers at international, European, national, regional, and local levels to the paramount importance of geoscience in civil protection against natural hazards and especially in earthquakes.
