The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) is a media partner of the World Conference on Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (WCCUS 2026), which will take place in Edinburgh from 21 to 25 September 2026. As part of this collaboration, EFG members are entitled to a 15% discount on conference registration fees. You can use the code ‘WCCUSEFG15’ to obtain this discount.

Carbon capture, utilisation, and storage are critical to achieving climate neutrality and supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy. WCCUS 2026 will address key scientific, technological, and policy challenges across the CCUS value chain, providing a global forum for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue.

The conference invites researchers and practitioners to contribute novel insights, technologies, and practical approaches to advancing carbon management. The programme will focus on the following thematic areas:

  • Geological CO₂ storage

  • CO₂ capture and transportation

  • CO₂ utilisation and emerging technologies

  • Policy and socioeconomics

Presenting at WCCUS 2026 offers participants global visibility and industry recognition, as well as opportunities to engage with a multidisciplinary international community. Accepted abstracts will be published open access on EarthDoc, ensuring broad dissemination within the CCUS community.

The event organisers are currently inviting the submission of abstract proposals. The deadline for submissions is 1 March 2026.

More information on the call for abstracts is available at: https://wccus.org/abstract-submission
