In the November 2022 edition of GeoNews, I would like to share some of my activities at EFG: As Communication Officer, I am involved in the planning and organisation of different communication activities of the European Federation of Geologists (EFG) and its EU-funded projects.
My work involves preparing the weekly newsletter EFGeoWeek, creating mailing campaigns, and updating the websites and social media channels for EFG and some of its projects. In addition, I have been specialising in motion graphics, graphic design and video editing and it has been exciting for me to produce materials for promoting EU-funded projects such as the animations CROWDTHERMAL: Empowering society to participate in the development of geothermal projects, ROBOMINERS: Developing resilient bio-inspired modular robotic miners or the brochure for REFLECT.
More recently, I have been actively working on the organisation of online events for EFG and EU-funded projects. The aim of the EFG online events is to foster the professional development of fellow geologists and increase public awareness of the importance of geoscience. I take the occasion to invite you to the upcoming EFG webinar on geheritage ‘Treasures of the Earth’ on 7 December 2022. The presenter of the session will be Mónica Sousa, Coordinator of the EFG Panel on Geological Heritage. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and learning languages.
