Minland consortium meeting
On 9 and 10 May 2019, the Horizon 2020 funded project MinLand held a consortium meeting in Vienna. The meeting was kindly hosted by one of the partners, the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) is part of this 2-year project and participated in the meeting to present the work carried out so far and discuss its upcoming tasks. EFG has an important role in the communication and dissemination of the MinLand project as leader of the task relating to the exploitation of its results.
During the meeting, partners presented their work and discussed relevant issues for the development of the project. A workshop on the good practice in land use planning took place the 9th of May. Partners were divided into 4 groups with the aim to share and discuss best practices from different EU countries.
The MinLand project will close at the end of 2019. Its objective is to meet the challenges concerning competing land-use planning related to different interests and to secure access to land for exploration and extraction of minerals, including critical raw materials.
