The REFLECT project is organising the webinar ‘Efficiency in geothermal operations and virtual visit to Insheim‘ on 4 November 2021, 15:00 – 16:30 CEST (Brussels time).
The efficiency of geothermal utilisation depends on the behaviour of fluids that transfer heat between the geosphere and the engineered components of a power plant. REFLECT aims to prevent problems related to fluid chemistry rather than treat them. The webinar will present the first results of the project’s research for improving the efficiency of geothermal operations. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to take a virtual tour of the geothermal power plant in Insheim (Pfalzwerke Geofuture GmbH). The tour will provide an overview of the functioning of the plant and the current operational problems.
The host of the webinar will be REFLECT project manager Katrin Kieling. Project partner Joerg Uhde (Pfalzwerke Geofuture GmbH) and, REFLECT scientific coordinator Simona Regenspurg (Helmholtz Zentrum Potsdam Deutsches GeoForschungsZentrum) will be the speakers.
