GeoTHERM 2026

The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) and GeoTHERM 2026 have signed a partnership agreement to strengthen the connection between the professional geological community and the geothermal energy sector.

GeoTHERM is the largest trade fair and congress for geothermal energy in Europe. Taking place at the Offenburg Exhibition Centre in Germany on 26 and 27 February 2026, the event brings together international experts, companies, and decision-makers from the fields of shallow and deep geothermal energy. It serves as a unique platform for exchange, knowledge transfer, and innovation in the transition to renewable energies.

The new partnership establishes a framework for mutual support and active participation during the upcoming event. EFG will host a booth in the exhibition area to engage with the community, and an EFG Board member will deliver a welcome speech during the conference opening. Furthermore, Janos Szanyi, Coordinator of the EFG Panel of Experts on Geothermal Energy, has been appointed to the event’s scientific committee.

EFG is also co-organising the final conference of the CRM-geothermal EU-funded project connected to GeoTHERM. This side event will take place on 25 February 2026, one day prior to the main trade fair. Find more information about this event and register here!
