Endorsed Training
EFG’s Endorsement Programme recognises high-quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training for geoscientists. Endorsed courses align with EFG standards and the EFG Academy ecosystem, and help course providers reach Europe’s geoscience community. Applications are welcome from EFG National Associations, companies/organisations, and individual tutors, for both technical and non-technical CPD.
EFG is excited to launch the new Endorsement+ Programme
The new Endorsement Programme is available in two tiers: Basic and Endorsement+ (Plus). Both tiers apply the same quality standards and provide EFG endorsement with core visibility. Plus adds an EFG-led EU-wide promotion package for providers who want stronger reach beyond their own channels.
Basic is designed for providers who mainly want an EFG quality mark and standard visibility through EFG channels (website and GeoNews), with the required EurGeol discount and course reporting requirements.
Endorsement+ (Plus) includes everything in Basic, and adds active promotion delivered by EFG (e.g., social posts, an email announcement, a short tutor promo video, and extended listings), to maximise visibility across Europe.
Benefits for course providers:
Quality recognition: Use the EFG “Endorsed Training” logo to signal alignment with EFG standards.
Visibility: Course listing on the GeoNews and EFG’s event calendar (~45,000 reach).
CPD clarity: Clear CPD value for EurGeol title holders (1.5 CPD points per hour).
Optional boost (Plus): EU-wide EFG-led promotional package (social posts, email campaign, tutor promo video, extended listings).
Benefits for European Geologist title holders:
Quality reassurance: Training is reviewed and endorsed against EFG standards.
CPD value: Earn 1.5 CPD points per hour for endorsed courses.
Discount: 20% discount on the course registration fee (mandatory for endorsed courses).
Discoverability: Easily find endorsed courses via EFG listings (website / course calendar and GeoNews).
Choose your endorsement tier
EFG Endorsed Training is available in two tiers. Both apply the same quality standards and include core visibility; Plus adds an EFG-led EU-wide promotional package.
- Basic (quality stamp + visibility): Best if you mainly want EFG quality recognition and standard visibility (EFG website listing + GeoNews listing), plus logo use, mandatory public competency mapping, mandatory feedback collection, and the 20% discount for EurGeol title holders.
- Endorsement+ / Plus (quality stamp + active promotion): Includes everything in Basic, plus an EFG-run EU-wide promotion package (typically 4 social posts, 1 email campaign, a 5–8 min tutor promo video using EFGA templates with EFG editing, a campaign kit, and EurGeol Portal listing). Recommended if you need measurable reach beyond your own channels.
The Basic tier is free for EFG National Associations. For the Plus tier, National Associations pay no upfront fee; instead, a mutually agreed profit-sharing arrangement applies, typically capped at €600 (unless additional delivery services, such as registration management, are agreed upon).
For external providers and tutors, a €50 review fee is payable upon application (non-refundable) and is credited against the tier fee if approved. If approved, the endorsement fee is €200 (Basic) or €600 (Endorsement+ / Plus).
Endorsed trainings are reviewed by the recently established EFG Academy Scientific Committee and endorsed against EFG standards.
Apply for course endorsement
A decision will be taken within a few weeks following the receipt of your application in consultation with the respective national membership association of EFG. The endorsement is valid for three years, subject to receipt of satisfactory feedback from EurGeol title holders.
