This year marks two major milestones in the global push for gender equality: the 10th anniversary of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and the 30th anniversary of the landmark Beijing Declaration. Despite progress, women and girls continue to face challenges that limit their participation in scientific fields.
Ensuring gender equality in science is key to a more inclusive and sustainable future. Overcoming barriers requires dismantling stereotypes, promoting female role models, and implementing policies that support women’s advancement. As the world reflects on these anniversaries, the call to foster diverse, equitable, and inclusive environments in science has never been more urgent.
