The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) has launched its Geoscience Education Manifesto. Produced by the EFG Panel of Experts on Education and led by Panel Coordinator Maria Tzima, it sets out a clear vision for how geoscience education can support a more sustainable, competitive, and resilient Europe.
At a time defined by climate change, resource challenges, and rapid technological transformation, geoscience education is more important than ever. One such example is LearnGeo 2026, which brings together teachers, career advisors, and students to explore the diverse and evolving role of geoscientists. By highlighting career pathways and real-world applications, the event helps connect education with professional practice and demonstrates the relevance of geoscience across multiple sectors.
Ultimately, the Manifesto is a call for collective action.
