12th Meggen Raw Material Days

The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) is proud to support the 12th Meggen Raw Material Days, an established international event bringing together geoscientists, industry professionals, policymakers, and researchers to discuss current challenges, innovations, and future developments in mining and geoscience.
Taking place from 15–18 September 2026 at the Town Hall of Altenhundem in Lennestadt, Germany, the event is organised by DIE!BA, the Education Academy of the Berufsverband Deutscher Geowissenschaftler e.V. (BDG), in partnership with TRACTO.
The programme includes an industry round table, two full conference days, and a practical short course, covering topics such as geoethics, raw material policy, critical raw materials, mining developments in Germany and Europe, sustainable resource management, AI in geosciences, and science communication. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts from academia, industry, government, and civil society through presentations, discussions, and networking activities.
EFG representatives will also contribute to the technical programme across all three conference days, sharing expertise on topics including European raw materials initiatives, geoscience communication, and public affairs.
