The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) is pleased to invite national geological associations, professional bodies, and qualified geological organisations worldwide to consider submitting a proposal to co-organise the 6th International Professional Geology Conference (IPGC 2027), ideally to be held in autumn 2027.
The IPGC is the leading international forum dedicated to professional geoscience, skills, standards, sustainable resource management, geoethics, and the evolving role of geologists in society. Building on the success of previous editions, the IPGC 2027 aims to further strengthen international collaboration and showcase how geoscience underpins climate action, resilience, sustainable development, and resource security.
EFG is seeking an enthusiastic and capable partner to design and deliver IPGC 2027 jointly. The selected co-organising partner will work closely with EFG on strategic planning, scientific programme development, operations, communication, and financial management, under a dedicated Memorandum of Understanding.
This is a unique opportunity for EFG member organisations to:
- Gain strong international visibility for their organisation and the national geoscience community
- Help shape the global agenda on professional geoscience
- Engage policy-makers, industry, academia, and early-career professionals
- Build lasting partnerships with European and international stakeholders
- Co-host a high-profile event with shared benefits and long-term legacy
