SUMMARY:FEM 2023
DESCRIPTION:The biannual FEM\, founded in 1998\, brings together over thousand exploration and mining industry leaders\, experts and researchers from over 30 countries. \nFEM highlights exploration and mining in Fennoscandia. In addition to Nordic experts\, the conference will feature many international speakers\, including top names\, corporate management in the field\, researchers and specialists from e.g. Canada and Australia. \nMany mining and exploration events concentrate on mining technology and processing industry. The Fennoscandian Exploration and Mining (FEM)\, on the other hand\, has from the very beginning focused mainly on exploration and mine development. Therefore FEM invites speakers from exploration and mining companies\, research institutes\, academia\, authorities and geological surveys. All presentations are by invitation only (no open call for abstracts). \nEFG is a media partner of FEM 2023.

SUMMARY:Chatham House 2023 Climate change conference
DESCRIPTION:In this decisive decade\, governments\, businesses\, and communities from across the world have the opportunity to define a new chapter for climate action. With global temperatures expected to temporarily rise beyond 1.5°C in the next five years\, amid worsening climate extremes\, the COP 28 ‘Global Stocktake’ offers a critical chance to reset. The path forward must include radically strengthened efforts to reduce emissions\, build resilience\, address loss and damage\, and mobilize climate finance. New partnerships\, financing mechanisms and innovative approaches to harness public and private sector collaboration will be crucial to deliver on our global climate goals and protect biodiversity. We have the means to drive significant transformative change and we must now seize the moment to accelerate progress. \nAhead of COP 28\, this annual conference will gather senior leaders and decision-makers from the business community\, multilateral organizations\, government agencies\, policymakers\, academia and non-governmental organizations. Two days of high-level panel dialogues\, networking sessions and interactive under-the-rule workshops will focus on multi-stakeholder collaboration for increased ambition\, action and impact. \nThis year’s conference will be convened in-person at Chatham House and simultaneously broadcast on our LIVE event virtual platform. \nWhy attend?\n\nUnderstand the key themes of the COP 28 agenda and the geopolitical developments shaping the future of climate diplomacy and finance.\nDiscover innovative approaches\, actionable steps and collaborative solutions to accelerate the climate transition.\nExplore the growing role of nature-based solutions to tackle the climate crisis\, resource scarcity\, environmental degradation and biodiversity loss.
