SUMMARY:9th Meggen Raw material days on Tour
DESCRIPTION:This course is endorsed by EFG. \nContent of the course: \n13th September – Fieldtrip: Introduction and excursions\n14th September – Conference day: Raw Material projects in Germany and Europe\n15th September – Short Course: A practical introduction to geochemical exploration targeting using exploratory data analysis \nAbout the short course (15th Sept): This short course will introduce basic concepts of geochemical exploration targeting and will provide the necessary skills for exploration and mining geologists to work with large surface or drillhole geochemical datasets. After a short introduction to the principles of primary and secondary geochemical dispersion\, key exploration sampling techniques will be introduced\, supported by global industry examples from soil\, stream sediment and drilling campaigns. In addition\, basic and advanced geochemical data ‘crunching’ techniques will be introduced in the context of interpreting element associations and lithogeochemical populations\, relevant to identifying mineral systems. The acquired knowledge will be solidified by a practical ioGas software demonstration and exercise using stream sediment data from a European metallogenic province. \nFurther information and registration: https://www.die-ba-bdg.de/seminar/9-meggener-rohstofftage-on-tour/ \nBrochure of the event: https://www.die-ba-bdg.de/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Anmeldung-9.-MRT.pdf \nPrice of the course (per day): \nDay 1\nRegistration fee: 270 €\nBDG Members/ EurGeol: 200 €\nMembers of cooperating organisations: 235 € \nDays 2 and 3\nRegistration fee: 345 €\nBDG Members/ EurGeol: 275 €\nMembers of cooperating organisations: 310 € \nNote: When booking multiple days the fee will be reduced by 50 % per additionally booked event. The number of participants for the fieldtrips\, esp for underground\, is limited. Seats will be assigned in order of application. Meals for registered\npeople included. 10 % early bird reduction by registration before 16. June 2023.

SUMMARY:Geothermal District Heating and Cooling Days 2023
DESCRIPTION:Both\, district heating (and cooling) and geothermal energy offer vital options to decarbonize the heating and cooling sector and reduce the dependency on energy imports in Europe. Although these concepts have a long tradition of use in Europe\, they still cover a niche with a significant potential for market growth in the upcoming years. \nThe Geothermal District Heating and Cooling Days 2023 organized by the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC)\, VIA University College (Aarhus) as local organizer\, the EU COST Action Geothermal-DHC and the EU Horizon Europe project SAPHEA\, will introduce a new European event aiming to interconnect science\, industry\, and policy at different geographical levels. The Geothermal District Heating and Cooling Days address the full spectrum of geothermal energy integration from ultra-low temperature (5G) to conventional heating (and cooling networks) as well as combined heat and power applications. \nThe Geothermal District Heating and Cooling Days 2023 will take place between 19 and 21 September in Aarhus / Denmark\, a European hot spot on district heating use at its step into geothermal district heating and cooling. The event will host the following main activities: \n\n19 September\, afternoon – Pre-conference workshop on legal and financial challenges related to geothermal energy use in heating and cooling network\n20 September (full day) – conference hosting sessions on policies\, market trends\, business models and technological innovations to improve the use of geothermal energy in heating and cooling networks\n21 September – Full-day field trip to existing and currently developed geothermal heating and cooling networks in and around Aarhus\n\nThe Geothermal District Heating and Cooling Days 2023 address researchers\, communities\, industry\, financial & insurance companies\, public bodies as well as policymakers.
