Ideal for geologists\, energy professionals\, and researchers. \nWhen: 9 October 2024\, 12:00-14:00 CEST \nWhere: Online \nPresenter: Dr. Isabelle Moretti \n\n\nCourse outline: \nThe aim of this short course is to provide an overview of natural hydrogen (H2) exploration activity and knowledge. The course will cover the current understanding on H2 generation in the subsurface\, the global landscape and ongoing activities related to natural H2. \nAbout the Presenter: \nIsabelle Moretti\, a scientist with a Master’s in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from the University of Paris XI (Orsay)\, began her career in 1987 at the French Petroleum Institute (now IFPen). She has held various global project management roles and developed professional software in structural geology. Isabelle has authored over 160 scientific papers and supervised approximately 30 Ph.D. students. She joined ENGIE in 2012\, where she served as Technical Officer and later as Scientific Director. Currently\, she leads a natural hydrogen team at Pau University (UPPA) and serves on the boards of EartH2\, INERIS\, and Pole Avenia. \nLearning outcomes: \n\nThe H2-generating rocks\, generalities about the reactions that allow H2 generation in the subsurface\nSimiliarities and differences within the petroleum systems\nThe prospective geological contexts\nPanorama of the countries where the exploration starts\nThe ecosystem and its growth\n\nDesigned for:  \nThis course offers an opportunity for those unfamiliar with the subject to gain a comprehensive understanding of current developments. No expertise in geology\, geochemistry\, or geophysics is required. It serves as an introduction to the new E&P landscape; however\, if you’re already working in this field\, it may not provide new insights.
