SUMMARY:GEODAYS 2026
DESCRIPTION:GeoDays is an international business convention dedicated to the subsurface industries\, bringing together operators\, researchers\, innovators\, startups\, and policymakers to exchange\, connect\, and advance projects at the intersection of geosciences and the energy transition. Now in its 2026 edition\, the event has established itself as a key meeting point for professionals across the full spectrum of subsurface sectors\, from geothermal energy and geological storage to mining\, hydrogen\, and beyond. \nThe 2026 edition takes place on 16 and 17 June at the Palais Beaumont in Pau\, France\, a city with deep historical roots in geosciences and drilling. The programme combines a business convention with targeted B2B meetings\, thematic conferences and roundtables\, and dedicated sessions on topics including the Euro-Mediterranean and Quebec energy transitions and the role of the subsurface in territorial planning. \nThis year’s event holds particular significance for the geosciences community\, as GeoDays 2026 opens a full week of geosciences activity in Pau\, continuing with the EFG Annual Congress later that week. \nAs an EFG member\, you can benefit from an exclusive 50% discount on the regular registration price. SUMMARY:9th Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) General Assembly
DESCRIPTION:The 9th Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) General Assembly will take place from 3 to 5 June 2026 in Budapest\, Hungary. Organised by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts in collaboration with HungaroMet Hungarian Meteorological Service\, this flagship annual event brings together researchers\, data providers\, service users\, EU institutions and partner organisations to reflect on the current state of European climate services and shape their future direction. \nThis year’s programme is structured around three thematic areas: authoritative climate knowledge\, including reanalyses\, monitoring and projections; enabling access to climate data through tools\, training and user workflows; and translating climate information into real-world decision-making and policy impact. The event will feature plenary presentations\, poster sessions\, breakout discussions and side meetings\, alongside a networking dinner on 4 June. \nRegistration is free of charge and open to all participants. Priority for on-site attendance will be given to C3S service providers and users\, with the deadline for on-site registration set for 25 May 2026. Participants interested in presenting a poster on-site are invited to express their interest by 6 April 2026. \nThe European Federation of Geologists will be represented at the event by Tamas Miklovicz\, Academy Manager and Project Officer.

DESCRIPTION:The Institute of Geologists of Ireland (IGI) are excited to announce their 2024 conference around the theme of Climate and Sustainability on 23 May and 24 May 2024. Geoscientists play a crucial role in addressing climate change and promoting sustainability through their interdisciplinary approach to understanding the Earth’s systems. \nThe objective of the conference is to showcase how the geoscientist has responded to sectoral changes in Energy\, Hydrogeology\, Contaminated Land and Minerals to assist in developing and managing sustainability and circularity within these industries. \nThe Conference will touch on the following topics: \n• Storage potential and technologies\n• Flood and environmental insurance risk\n• The EU Taxonomy Environmental Sustainability Classification system\n• EU Mineral Requirements\n• Mine Rehabilitation\n• Planning Legislative reform\n• Environmental Licensing reform \nThe conference will run over 2 days including a workshop on the Friday afternoon. As well as the lunch and coffee breaks\, there will also be an opportunity to mingle with fellow conference attendees at a social event with finger food and refreshments\, on the Thursday evening\, immediately following the first day of the conference. \nRegistration is now open and further details on the conference programme\, registration costs and early bird dates etc. are available by clicking on the link here: \nhttps://advantagepco.eventsair.com/igi-2024/igi-2024-reg

SUMMARY:Energy Geoscience Conference 2023: Powering the Energy Transition through subsurface collaboration
DESCRIPTION:Geoscience underpins many aspects of the energy mix that fuels our planet and offers a range of solutions for reducing global greenhouse gas emissions as the world progresses towards net zero. The aim of this new Energy Geoscience Conference series is to explore and develop the contribution of geology and geophysics to the low-carbon energy transition. The meeting will be a key forum for sharing geoscientific aspects of energy supply as earth scientists grapple with the subsurface challenges of remaking the world’s energy system\, balancing competing demands in achieving a low carbon future. \nAberdeen has a world-leading role in the energy sector and vision to position itself as a climate positive city helping to lead the world towards net zero. It is the standout UK location to launch the first conference in this exciting new series: the Energy Geoscience Conference\, EGC1 in 2023. \nVisit the dedicated conference website to find out more.

SUMMARY:Repowering Europe for a sustainable EU strategic autonomy
DESCRIPTION:The current converging geopolitical\, economic\, and climate crises are impacting every aspect of our lives. The way we tackle them now will have far-reaching implications for the years to come. In this context\, the European Commission’s REPowerEU Plan was designed to support the difficult task of aligning energy policy efforts along these fields in a coherent and effective manner. \nResearch has a pivotal role to play in this endeavour and EERA\, through the REPowerEU Manifesto\, shows that its community of researchers is best placed to address both short-term emergencies and long-term constraints\, provided Europe is able to create the space and the adequate conditions for this to happen. \nAs an introduction to feed the discussions that will follow\, EERA will officially launch its REPowerEU Manifesto containing the European clean energy research community’s response to the REPowerEU Plan. \nModality – This is an in-person event. However\, broadcasting of the event will also be available for participants to follow the conference online. \nNetworking lunch – Following the conference\, EERA is pleased to invite the attendants to a walking lunch where they will have the opportunity to exchange their perspectives on the topic addressed and identify potential opportunities for collaboration. \n

SUMMARY:DEEPSURF2022 Energy and Ecological Transition Conference
DESCRIPTION:DEEPSURF Conference is a forum for scientific\, political\, and societal debate arising from the need to manage natural resources in a more sustainable way in the context of climate change and transition to green and renewable energies. Questions and challenges emerging from the Green Deal promoted by the European Union will be at the heart of the Conference. \n\nHow to reduce greenhouse gases emissions and enhance carbon dioxide sequestrations?\nHow to improve our knowledge of complex ecosystems involved in ecological transition?\nHow to contribute to the debate on sustainable resource management?\n\nThe Conference aims to bring together scientists from a range of disciplines: geosciences\, environment\, soil\, forest sciences\, applied mathematics\, geography\, history\, economy\, and social and legal sciences. Such diversity is necessary in order to debate the major challenges posed by the European Green Deal.
