For the 36th time, geologists from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden will gather for the biennial Nordic Geological Winter Meeting. The meeting comes ‘back’ to Gothenburg where the very first NGWM was held in 1954, and we are proud to bring the NGWM back home!
The NGWM continues to be an important venue for earth scientists across Norden to meet, interact and share current research. The meeting will consist of three days of open general sessions covering all aspects of geosciences along with special sessions on designated topics. Although the NGWM has traditionally been a forum for academics, we encourage geologists in industry as well as students to attend. With the motto of this conference “Geology for Society,” we want to highlight that we want to respond to an increased attention in the public space for our discipline. Topics such as critical raw materials, shortage of groundwater and one or more topics of your choice are of particular relevance.
