As part of the #EFGinclusion campaign, we are sharing today the video statement on the importance of critical raw materials we had the chance to record with Dr. Silvia Paparella, General Manager of RemTech Expo, during COP29.
Women leaders as Silvia inspire inclusion and drive systemic change in traditionally male-dominated fields like geoscience. Female geoscience experts not only deliver impactful messages but also set an example for younger professionals, highlighting the importance of representation in decision-making roles.
EFG and RemTech collaborated during COP29 to highlight the importance of geologists in energy transition and fighting climate change. EFG Global Ambassador Maureen Gallagher and President David Govoni participated as speakers in the session “Building Blocks of Innovative Effective Climate Policy: Critical Minerals for Green Energy”, organised by RemTech Expo at the Italy Pavilion on November 18. This session, expertly moderated by Silvia Paparella, stressed the importance of geological expertise in assessing infrastructure vulnerability and formulating climate adaptation strategies, considering that 30 % of global infrastructure are considered at risk by 2050.
