The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EnerGeo Alliance in 2025, marking a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening global collaboration in energy geoscience.

EnerGeo Alliance, based in the United States, is a global trade association representing the energy geoscience and exploration industry. Through this MoU, EFG and EnerGeo commit to advancing shared professional values, enhancing skills development, and exploring joint opportunities in research, policy, and outreach.

Both organisations will collaborate on member services, knowledge exchange, event promotion, and regulatory insights. The agreement aims to foster a more unified geoscientific voice on the global stage. It also includes reciprocal benefits such as discounted event participation and increased visibility for both parties.

EFG President David Govoni and EnerGeo President Nikki Martin emphasised the MoU as a key step in uniting geoscientists to address the energy challenges of the future and highlighted the value of global cooperation in driving responsible and science-based energy development.
